While Ive got you here, lets chat. "Why dont we open up Alaska for oil? wahh wahh wahh Gas will be cheaper." Bullshit. Why? Because its not good fucking business. I live in Alaska, 4 miles from the pipline, 12 from a refinery, our gas prices should be the lowest in the nation right? Nope. Gas in Las Vegas is cheaper than here... and they have to import it to Las Vegas.
But the question remains, why?
Well lets do a little role playing. You are the owner of an oil company, you're currently getting oil from the middle east & you own ANWR (assuming they open it). Now lets say the gas in the middle east runs out. You now control a major supply. Now what seems better, giving it to your fellow countrymen for a cheap price, they are youre people after all, or are you going to charge the whole world the same price, 300% of what it is when gas runs out in the middle east. Now you see why it doesn't matter if we open Alaska.
Paying for your first bag on an airline So airlines have decided that they're gonna charge everyone $15 dollars for their first bag, IN ADDITION TO RAISED AIRLINE PRICES. Ok it sucks but $15 inst much. But there is an exception to this rule, frequent fliers. So as it was broken down by my step dad's friends, those who cant afford to fly frequently get fucked, and they're often times the ones who need that extra $15. I personally think that the frequent fliers get fucked. But thats just me.
Higher gas costs, higher everything costs. Nothing is cheap anymore. In fact some things are getting absolutely ridiculous and why? The rising price of gas of course. Because it takes gas to ship things and companies make up for it by inflating prices. So there's nothing sacred anymore, anything, everything is skyrocketing. One cent here, 5 cents there, it adds up. And again those who are struggling get hit the worst.
I'm Damian, 16, and its been a pleasure talking with you.
(Edit) Ah again we are faced with another way the world is corrupt. Keep in mind this deviation was made BEFORE Palin decided she wanted to be the VP. So therefore I now direct my attention to Palin.
"She rejected the bridge to nowhere." No one in the Contiguous United States knows what this is. But it sounds like a baaaad idea. "oh Palin rejected a seemingly worthless bridge. Allow me to explain, there is not on, not 2 but hundreds of "bridges to nowhere" in Alaska. This particular one that the GOP wont shut up about is the one near Ketchikan. Originally Palin SUPPORTED this bridge because in the long run it would cost less to provide the 12 inhabitants less in the long run to just build the $22 million bridge than help these citizens pay for the daily commute. And she used that as her platform as governor, that she is willing to do what it takes for the people.
"Obama has no experience" Neither does Palin. 60,000 people is harly something to gloat about being governor over. Biden had over 240,000 under him when he was mayor. Quite frankly, Id choose Biden over Palin any day. Besides, its not Palin running for Presidency, its McCain. somewhere people lose sight of this and focus on Palin. Palin her self admitted to having no idea what the VP does.
unfortunately time conspires against me. Ill finish when I get back from work.
